One of the primary agricultural ventures on KMU's portfolio is the land in Senga Hill, where the University focuses on cultivating sunflower, soya beans and beans.

KMU Agricultural Enterprise

KMU has recently ventured into livestock farming, another key pillar in the agricultural sector. On campus, a newly established kraal is home to over 20 goats, 15 sheep, and 10 cattle, including a bull.

Solar Panel Installation

KMU has installed 54 solar panels accompanied by a robust battery storage system with a total capacity of 30 Kilowatts.

Chinese Ambassador tours KMU

In January 2025, KMU was honored to host the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, His Excellency Mr. Han Jing, who visited to inspect the project site for the establishment of the National Tilapia Breeding and Production Centre on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Welcome to Kapasa Makasa University

History of Kapasa Makasa University

Kapasa Makasa University (32.222 -10.606) is located along the Great North Road in Mulakupikwa Village, north of Chinsali. It was initially intended as a police training facility, named Chinsali Combined Staff Training College, during Zambia’s first Republic under the Ministry of Home Affairs. On 29th July 1996, Cabinet transferred the facility from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ministry of Education or any appropriate Ministry. The land extent then was about 200 Hectres. A committee was later appointed by then His Excellency President Levy Mwanawasa to recommend to government what the facility was to be used for. The committee, headed by Prof. Geoffrey Lungwangwa, recommended that it should be developed as a center of excellence in university education for science and technology.
