1. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND AQUATIC SCIENCES

Job purpose:

To conduct lectures in the specialized course/programs applying for and any other related course(s)/ programs, participate in curriculum development in the department, supervise practical activities, fieldwork and assist students with research work.

To mark students’ practical and written exercises, tests, assignments, and examinations, research proposals, carry out research, and publish in high impact journals, present papers at conferences, workshops, engage in consultancy. Participate fully in the university activities aiming at generating income and to perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.  

 

1. Lecturer in Animal Science – 1 POSITION

Requirements

• Must have a Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent 
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Animal science, Veterinary medicine or any related field from a reputable and accredited university
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Breading, Veterinary medicine or any related field from a reputable and accredited university.  
• A PhD in Animal Science, Veterinary medicine or any related field from a reputable and accredited university will be an added advantage. 
• A teaching methodology will be an added advantage
• Must be knowledgeable in research and data analysis tools and software
• Must be a member of a professional regulatory body e.g Agriculture Institute of Zambia
• At least 2 years of experience in a reputable institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Must be of high integrity, honesty, ethical, professional conduct and sober character

1. Lecturer in Agricultural Science– 1 POSITION

• Must have Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, soil science, crop science, or any related field from a reputable and accredited university
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop production, Soil science, Plant science, Agricultural economics, or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. 
• A PhD in Agronomy, Sustainable Agriculture, Crop production, Soil science, Plant science or any related field from a reputable and accredited university will be an added advantage. 
• A teaching methodology will be an added advantage
• Must be knowledgeable in research and data analysis tools and software
• Must have full registration and valid practicing license from Agriculture Institute of Zambia
• At least 2 years of experience in a reputable institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Must be of high integrity, honesty, ethical, professional conduct and sober character

 

1. Lecturer in Agricultural Economics– 1 POSITION

• Must have a Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent 
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Agric-entrepreneurship, Fisheries economics, Livestock management or any related field from a reputable and accredited university
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agribusiness management, Agricultural economics, Fisheries management, livestock management or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. 
• A PhD in Agribusiness management, Agricultural economics, Fisheries management, livestock management or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. will be an added advantage. 
• A teaching methodology will be an added advantage
• Must be knowledgeable in research and data analysis tools and software
• Must have full registration and valid practicing license with a regulatory body
• At least 2 years of experience in a reputable institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Must be of high integrity, honesty, ethical, professional conduct and sober character

 

1. Lecturer in Biometry – 1 POSITION

• Must have a Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent 
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Biometry, Statistics, Biostatistics or any related field from a reputable and accredited university
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Biometry, Statistics, Biostatistics or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. 
• A PhD in Biometry, Statistics or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. will be an added advantage. 
• Knowledge and experience in using statistical software packages is a must
• A teaching methodology will be an added advantage
• At least 2 years of experience in a reputable institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Must be of high integrity, honesty, ethical, professional conduct and sober character

 

1. Aquaculture– 1 POSITION

• Must have a Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or its equivalent 
• Must have Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture, Fisheries management or any related field from a reputable and accredited university
• Must have a Master’s Degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Fish nutrition, Fish genetics and breeding, Aquaculture production systems, fisheries management or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. 
• A PhD in Aquaculture, Fish nutrition, Fish genetics and breeding, Aquaculture production systems or any related field from a reputable and accredited university. will be an added advantage. 
• Knowledge and experience in using statistical software packages is a must
• A teaching methodology will be an added advantage
• Must belong to a relevant professional body related to a field of expertise
• At least 2 years of experience in a reputable institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player
• Must be of high integrity, honesty, ethical, professional conduct and sober character
